After I retired as a school counselor, I knew that there was a new path I was destined to take and that it would include a deep connection to our role as spiritual beings in a physical world. Recognizing how so many of us are stressed, worried, overwhelmed and experiencing physical or emotional pain, I was interested in learning how to help myself and others in a new and different way. I am aware that words alone can be ineffective and although they certainly hold an important purpose in our lives serving to teach, communicate and enlighten, they often fall short of creating lasting change on their own.
Using practices of energy healing to facilitate wellness, relaxation and positive change is the gateway to what we truly seek. It is beautiful to experience the transformation that occurs when we are open to exploring the beauty, connection and power of Reiki energy.

I love the alignment that Reiki offers for various aspects of our lives. One of the many reasons I am drawn to Reiki is because it addresses the root of a problem. For example, if you suffer from headaches, the immediate end goal of Reiki is to reduce or eliminate the headaches. But, if the source of the headache is stress linked to your career, Reiki will work to reduce the physical problem while simultaneously helping you consider a new position, explore the reason for stress in your current one or discover ways to handle the stress without causing tension that leads to headaches.
Reiki can improve many areas of your life including your thoughts, physical well-being, home, career path, business, and relationships.
I am drawn to all modalities of energy healing: acupuncture, crystal therapy, The Sedona Method, Emotional Freedom Technique etc. Yet, when I became attuned to Reiki, I initially did not use this gift. It was not until I broke my ankle that I was advised to use self-healing Reiki on a daily basis to aid recovery after surgery. I began to do this and saw immediate benefits of reduced pain as well as a heightened sense of well-being, which was sorely needed at the time; I felt like I had an ally I could call on in this time of physical and emotional distress.
Since I was home for three months due to limited mobility, I decided to offer Reiki sessions to friends and family as I started feeling better, thus beginning my own experiment: to see if Reiki could really help others. Many of these individuals had no idea what Reiki was and/or did not believe in energy healing. I know some of them were even humoring me by trying it; others were in enough pain, whether physical or emotional, to try something as foreign as energy healing.
I was curious about the results and here is what I discovered: the majority of people had significant positive results, experiencing a reduction in pain, stiffness and aches. Some experienced a loss of headaches and cold symptoms. Others shared they felt an increase in peace of mind and the ability to forgive as well as a reduction in general anxiety. Some experienced an intense urge to de-clutter their lives and get their homes in order and their business matters sorted out while others were led to discover a new sense of purpose in their lives. I was amazed and happy - and honestly a little surprised - with the feedback my friends and family gave me.
I know it is harder for people to understand how a remote session works. As a friend said to me, “How do people know that you are not watching Netflix while eating a pint of ice cream instead of conducting a Reiki session?" I laughed but it was a good question. In all my endeavors, as a School Counselor, College Advisor, and private College Consultant, I brought a high level of integrity to what I do, wanting to help the students to the best of my ability. I bring that same dedication to the practice of Reiki.
I know how it feels to be in pain, to be afraid, to desperately want to heal, to feel anxiety, frustration and deep sadness. I have had a number of surgeries and know the vulnerability that accompanies it. I do my best to serve as a gateway for this beautiful, healing energy and I love that Reiki has a consciousness of its own, working toward what is best for the client. The practice of Reiki is based on good intention plus solid focus and I have both.
In order to appreciate how a remote session works, we have to understand that everything is energy and that energy travels; it is not constrained by physical space or time. Just because it cannot be seen, does not mean it is not real. We cannot see electricity, yet can turn on lights at will. Reiki is like turning on the light of healing that exists in all of us.
Personally, I can share that while I perform self-Reiki or provide sessions for others, I experience waves of blissful energy and a wonderful sense of well-being and peace. I feel a connection to energy beyond physical experience and it gives me peace, hope and trust in something greater.
~ Reiki is a beautiful gift and I am grateful I can share it with you. ~
